Natural Habitat:

Aquascaping:

• Plants: Use Amazon Swords, Java Fern, Water Sprite, or Floating Plants like Duckweed or Frogbit.

Diet and Feeding:

Omnivorous and undemanding, Opaline Gouramis will readily accept flakes, pellets, and frozen foods. Include a mix of protein and plant-based options for optimal health.

Best suited to peaceful community tanks. Good tank mates include rasboras, Corydoras, livebearers, small barbs, and non-aggressive tetras. Avoid long-finned or aggressive fish, and consider only one male per tank unless space is abundant.

Shrimp Safe:

May be safe with adult shrimp in a heavily planted aquarium. Caution advised with shrimp fry or smaller ornamental shrimp.

Breeding:

A bubble-nesting species. Males will construct nests at the water's surface and protect the eggs after spawning. Provide floating plants and calm water conditions for successful breeding.
