She has been walking through the rain since 1914 — umbrella up, salt spilling, completely unbothered. This set of three mugs tells her story.
Each mug features a different Morton Salt Girl from a different era: 1914, 1921, and 1968. Three decades, three iterations of one of the most enduring icons in American advertising history. The same design appears on both sides of each mug. Stamped on the bottom: "Bryan China, New Castle, PA, Made in China."
A note for collectors: Morton Salt mugs were produced by several different manufacturers and vary in color, size, and shape. The ones marked Bryan China will match this set.
Display them together as a collection, use them daily as a reminder that some things are simply timeless, or give them to the person in your life who appreciates the golden age of American brand design.
Bryan China Company was founded in New Castle, PA in 1980, originally as a contract decorator for the limited-edition collector plate market. They produced a wide range of hand-decorated items in porcelain, glass, and ceramics — including work for Avon, GM, and Disney — as well as their own branded line, like these mugs.
