Oase Hel-X 13 is an advanced biological filter media as used in the Oase BioMaster External Aquarium Filter range. Hel-X 13 Biomedia has been redeveloped by Oase engineers to further increase its biological settlement surface area by an additional 13% in comparison to the previous Hel-X Biomedia, hence the new name. Hel-X 13 now has a total surface area of 955m²/m³ and a total protected surface area of 806m²/m³.
Hel-X 13 has a helical geometry and consists of individual housings which allow beneficial aerobic bacteria to settle and breed inside the protected casings helping to biologically break down food and fish waste creating a much healthier and clearer environment for your fish.
